Here’s our next post in our series highlighting the best eats around the WNY towns and neighborhoods we cover. We move on now to the Clarence area….Bon apetite!
1. Griffon GastroPub
5445 Transit Rd, Clarence
We start this list with Griffon GastroPub. The delicious fusion of American and Asian food served is what really sets Griffon apart from the rest. Aside from the great and diverse menu, this casual hometown restaurant has great service and a bar stocked with a large variety of beer and a casual pub-style menu. In short, the warm environment and creative menu of Griffon GastroPub make it a local favorite and I recommend giving it a try.
2. The Hollow Bistro & Brew
10641 Main St, Clarence
The next spot on our list belongs to The Hollow Bistro & Brew. This mouth-watering restaurant also specializes in a fusion of American and Asian cuisine. With portion sizes almost as large as their beer list, The Hollow Bistro & Brew is a favorite for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The environment is casual enough for a quick lunch and warm and romantic enough for a night out with your spouse.
3. Orazio’s Restaurant
9415 Main St, Clarence
The delectable home-style Italian food served at Orazio’s Restaurant make it a must eat if you’re in or around the Clarence area. The family friendly service and wedding reception style environment make Orazio’s the epitome of an old-school Italian restaurant. This paired with a long list of specialty appetizers, entrées, and desserts served with classic Italian portions makes Orazio’s really special.
4. Asa Ransom House
10529 Main St, Clarence
Next on our list, we have the quaint and cozy American restaurant the Asa Ransom House. The Asa Ransom House doubles as a Bed & Breakfast, and the friendly and welcoming environment is really emphasized by this. The cheerful and accommodating staff make for a phenomenal dining experience, perfect for a special occasion or a Sunday brunch. Whether you’re eating of the regular or specialty menu, you will not be disappointed by the delicious food.
5. CoreLife Eatery
5175 Transit Rd, Clarence
The next restaurant on our list CoreLife Eatery, is as delicious as it is healthy. Clarence locals had been waiting in anticipation for the grand opening of this healthy Mediterranean style restaurant, and they were not let down. The wonderful staff serving the freshest organic and gluten free foods were well worthy of the hype. Combined with spacious indoor and outdoor seating and a friendly environment, CoreLife Eatery is a favorite restaurant for a healthy lunch or dinner.
6. El Ranchito Mexican Restaurant
9780 Main St, Clarence
This next restaurant also made it on our list of the best food in Williamsville, and one taste of the delicious Mexican cuisine served at El Ranchito will show you why. The excellent selection of classic and specialty Mexican food is sure to have something you’ll love. The service was good even on busier days, you really can’t go wrong if you’re in the mood for Mexican. The quiet outdoor patio and delicious margaritas were a few more of my favorite things about El Ranchito and if you didn’t get a chance to try it after the last list, please do, you won’t regret it.
7. Penny Lane Cafe
10255 Main St, Clarence
Penny Lane Café would be one of my favorite restaurants just from the delicious food alone, but it is much more than that. The wonderfully funky environment is welcoming for the whole family, complete with colorful indoor seating and a patio with hula hoops, jump rope, and sidewalk chalk. There is a reason that Penny Lane Café is often known as the “Coolest Place in Buffalo” and if you haven’t checked it out yet, you really should.
8. Rocco’s Wood-Fired Pizza
5433 Transit Rd, Clarence
No list of best restaurants is ever complete without a good pizza joint, and Rocco’s Wood-Fired Pizza is just that. The amazing and consistent wood-fired pizza served at Rocco’s is an all-time favorite of many locals. The laid back, comfortable atmosphere make Rocco’s a perfect place to eat rain or shine.
9. The Cornerstone Bar & Grill
10651 Main St, Clarence
The next restaurant on our list is another which specializes in traditional American cuisine. There are many things that set The Cornerstone Bar & Grill apart from the rest, but aside from the delicious fresh food served at the Cornerstone, the staff and the other patrons were all very friendly and it was one of my best dining experiences in Buffalo. I can’t think of a single complaint about my time at the Cornerstone Bar & Grill, and I highly recommend it if you’re looking to try somewhere new.
10. Hayes Fish Co.
8900 Main St, Clarence
The last restaurant on our list is Hayes Fish Co. The fresh seafood of Hayes Fish Co. is always cooked to order at an exceptionally reasonable price. One of my favorite things about Hayes is that their menu is longer and more diverse than any other seafood restaurant I’ve seen. Hayes combos as both a restaurant and fish market so even if you don’t feel like eating in, Hayes is the seafood restaurant you need to be going to.
