The holidays are over and we’re a few weeks into the new year….just staring winter in it’s cold and snowy face. What can we do Buffalo? Embrace it of course! Get out there and have some fun – here are some winter activities to enjoy and help bridge the gap until Spring:
1. Ice at Canalside
44 Prime St, Buffalo
We have to start here – the skating surface at Canalside is larger than two NHL rinks and has three bridges…..Rockefeller Center has nothing on us!
2. RiverWorks Activities
359 Ganson St, Buffalo
Riverworks is a great place for winter activities – check out a Queen City Roller Girls match, the Pond Hockey Tournament and more.
3. Chestnut Ridge Park
6121 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Orchard Park
Lots to do here – enjoy tobogganing, sledding, snowboarding, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowmobiling on designated trails.
4. Holiday Valley Tubing
5673 Bryant Hill Rd, Ellicottville
The Tubing Park has 22 lanes including 3 group lanes that are 900 feet long and drop 100 vertical feet, plus 2 handle tows to pull you back up the hill!
5. Kissing Bridge
10296 State Rd, Glenwood
Ski resort 3o mins south of Buffalo with great slopes for skiing, snowboarding and more!
6. Tifft Nature Preserve
1200 Fuhrmann Boulevard, Buffalo
Only three miles outside downtown Buffalo, site bordering Lake Erie offers hiking trails, boardwalks and a cattail marsh that is great for bird-watching, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
